1. Look for clothing items that only need to modified in one place (i.e. top pr bottom) at least at first.
2. Check the seams! If something has lining or zippers, it will be more difficult to alter.
3. Go to JoAnn's with coupons! You can download an App for your Iphone where you can get coupons and just show them your phone at the checkout counter! Cool Right?!!
4. Before you buy fabric, check stores for cheap clothing you can put together with the piece you originally wanted to alter. It is easier to put 2 items together than to have to figure out how to cut out fabric, not to mention, you will have to finish the fabric edge.
